Maytag Washing Machine Error Codes

As a maker of high-quality appliances for decades, Maytag knows that even the best appliances experience issues from time to time. More likely than not, you took a lot of time to research your washing machine's features and benefits before purchasing it. But you probably didn’t spend much time researching all the different Maytag washing machine error codes and what they mean.

Thankfully, you’ll never have to. We’ve assembled a helpful guide to all the different error codes you’ll see on top-loading and front-loading Maytag washing machines.

Maytag Washing Machine Issues

When it comes to washing machine error codes, some issues crop up more often than others. Here are some common washing machine issues and how to resolve them:

  • Load balance issues: Top-loading washing machines need the load to be relatively balanced within the basket. If your machine refuses to operate because of an unbalanced load, simply redistribute the load more evenly.
  • Water not draining: This can be caused by an installation issue or a drain issue. The error code tends to pop up when the washer takes more than eight minutes to drain.
  • Washer door can’t be locked: A washer door that won’t lock is usually caused by an object stuck in the door lock. Check the door for any small items or lint buildup. Removing any obstructions will typically fix this issue.
