Appliance Repair Frequently Asked Questions
Is it worth it to repair my broken fridge?
Yes, you can probably save some money by going the repair route. On average, your refrigerator should last about 14 years. A new refrigerator can cost quite a bit of money, and time, as you’ll need to shop for a new one and deal with scheduling the drop-off and installation. With the repair route, you’ll get to book your service according to your schedule and save money and time in the process!
My clothes are still wet after a drying cycle; is this a sign it needs to be repaired?
Not necessarily! There are a few things you can check. First, ensure you’re cleaning the lint trap after every load. Next, you should have your dryer vent cleaned if it’s been 6 - 12 months since your last dryer vent cleaning. Next, ensure you are not overloading your dryer. If you give these a try and your clothes are still damp after a full cycle, you might have an issue with the heating element which should be looked at by our pros. If you’re in this situation, don’t panic! Simply schedule your service online and we will be out ASAP to help.
Why are my dishes still wet after the drying cycle?
First, make sure you aren’t overloading your dishwasher. Doing so can result in the dishes not getting enough airflow between each other which will prohibit them from drying. Next, if you aren't already, consider using some Rinse Aid with each cycle. If you still experience wet dishes after a full cycle, you could have an issue with the vent motor or heating element. Give us a call and we’ll come out and take a look!
What does it mean when your oven won’t heat up?
If your oven isn’t heating up, you likely have a problem with your heating element (for an electric oven) or the igniter (for a gas oven).
Some other problems and potential causes include:
- Ovens that don’t heat to the desired temperature - This is probably due to a damaged temperature sensor, the heating element, or the igniter.
- Gas burners that don’t ignite - You might have a problem with the gas line or the burner ignitors.
- Oven doors that don’t shut - This problem could be caused by broken hinges, broken door springs, defective gaskets, or a faulty door sensor. Just be sure that you do not use your oven if the door doesn’t shut.
No matter the problem, your local oven repair experts can help! For speedy, expert oven repair service, book your service online or give our team a call at (301) 250-1439!
