While in the Navy Reserves, Ed worked in the telecom industry, as well as the software industry, managing security software development projects. He wrapped up his final three years in the Navy at Joint Base Andrews as Executive Director of Programs in 2011.

Ed and Beth agree one of the main attractions to starting up their franchise was the Code of Values that is embraced from top to bottom in the organization. These values are the same as those they live by. Honesty, integrity, professionalism, continuous process improvement, and putting people first motivated them to start up their location. Ed and Beth have four children, Michelle, Richard, Nicole, and Michael.
